Year 7 Pinnacle Program

Each year Kingscliff High School runs a program to cater for aspirational Year 7 students known as the Pinnacle Program. The philosophy behind the Pinnacle Program is to provide a challenging educational environment for students who endeavour to display high levels of academic and personal achievement with a commitment to learning. Student selection utilises the NSW Department of Education High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Policy in the domains of creative, intellectual, physical and social-emotional.

Important Dates

**Please note that due to many students attending the FNC Dance event 4-6 June 2024, the selection assessment date has been changed from 5 June to 12 June**

 

2025 Pinnacle Program information will be provided at the Year 7 2025 Parent Information night - Thursday 7 March 2024

2025 Pinnacle Program information will be sent to Primary Schools during early Tem 2

Complete the Year 7 2025 Pinnacle Program application form and return to Kingscliff High School before Friday 24 May 2024 (Term 2, Week 4)

Students must complete a selection assessment held at Kingscliff High School at 6:00pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024 (Term 2, Week 7)

Student must sit an interview on Thursday 13 June 2024 or Friday 14 June 2024. (Term 2, Week 7)

YEAR 7 – TRANSITION INTO HIGH SCHOOL

To enable smooth transition into high school, the Head Teacher-Admin works closely with the Year 7 Adviser, and the following information relates to Year 7:

Year 7 2024 ‘K-Day' Orientation Program

The first two days of Year 7 2024 students will participate in a program designed to familiarise them with all aspects of the high school setting. 

Stage 4 (Year7 and Year 8) Showcase Teacher/Parent/Students
Tuesday 9 April 2024 from 3:30pm

There will be an opportunity at the end of Term 1 for parents/carers to attend Stage 4 showcase evening where students showcase their achievements at Kingscliff High School.  

Parent Information Night  for Year 7 2025 - Thursday 7 March 2024 from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the school Library

All parents/carers from Kindergarten to Year 6 students are invited to attend Kingscliff High School Parent Information Night.  Information will include: Stage 4 / Year 7 structure information, Q&A session with our current Year 7 students, BYOD information, Meet the Year 7 Adviser for 2025, Meet the Principal and Deputy Principal and you will hear information about the High Potential and Gifted Education and our school's Pinnacle Program.

Year 6 Orientation Day for Year 7 2025 - Tuesday 3 December 2024

Year 6 2024 students are invited to attend Kingscliff High School on Tuesday 3 December 2024 for the Orientation Day for Year 7 2025.  Students will meet their Stage 4 teachers and rotate through a series of taster activities.
