Vision Statement

Our Year 7 Extension Class nurtures the intellectual and creative aptitude of high-potential and gifted students by providing extended learning opportunities across all subject areas, with a focus on developing advanced skills in critical thinking, reasoning, and innovation.

We foster a stimulating and supportive environment where students engage in challenging learning activities that deepen their understanding, encourage complex problem-solving, and promote original and expressive ideas.

Students are led through opportunities to cultivate both their curiosity and creativity, challenge their intellectual thinking, and build confidence and resilience throughout their academic journey.

We inspire each learner to develop their talents, pursue excellence, embrace challenges with enthusiasm, and cultivate a lifelong passion for discovery, innovation, and meaningful contribution to society.

Teaching and Learning in the Extension Class

The extension will provide opportunities for students to engage in independent research and high potential and gifted learning programs that foster advanced inquiry and personal academic growth beyond typical classroom expectations.

Students will explore extension activities that deepen their understanding and foster advanced skills. Learning activities are designed to promote opportunities for independent research and self-directed learning. Students are encouraged to extend their knowledge, particularly across the intellectual and creative domains.

Our extension class nurtures talent development in the intellectual and creative domains, and ensures students feel supported, and motivated while navigating the challenges of advanced learning. The learning environment helps students develop resilience by engaging in thoughtful and reflective dialogue.
