Student opportunities and activities
At Kingscliff High School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.
Our programs may include:
- school sport, athletics and inter-school competitions
- creative and performing arts groups and showcases
- cultural and language activities
- excursions and incursions
- public speaking and debating
- interest-based clubs
- student leadership opportunities
- activities that support high potential and gifted learners.
School Sport
School Sport is an aspect of high school that most students look forward to. All students will have the opportunity to select from a range of sports held at school.
Selecting a sport
Students will be able to choose from a range of sports to meet their individual interests to be held at school. Refer to the Sports Coordinator for further information.
- Years 7 - 10 Sport - Wednesday afternoon (1:35pm - 3:15pm)
- Years 11 and 12 - Sport is not compulsory
Swimming Carnival
The KHS Swimming Carnival occurs early in Term 1. Apart from age races, there is plenty to do - cheering for your House, participating in novelty events or just being with your friends. Attendance is compulsory, as for any other school day.
Cross Country and Athletics Carnival
Both carnivals take place in Term 2. In addition to races and field events, there are novelty events so you will have the opportunity to join in the fun! Attendance is compulsory, as for any other school day.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
