Kingscliff High School - Sports Excellence
NETBALL
Targeted Sports Program
The program
Built for aspiring athletes
The Targeted Sports Program – Netball is designed to contribute to the development of 20 identified aspiring young athletes, providing them with a variety of sport-specific learning experiences throughout the year. Training sessions focus on skill development, teamwork and game strategy, fostering athletic skill, confidence and sportsmanship, with progress tracked all year round.
To support these athletes, TSP–Netball players take part in a structured program built around five commitments:
Weekly training
Sport-specific training every Tuesday, integrated directly into student timetables, and Thursday 7.30–8.30am, developing fundamental skills, knowledge and fitness.
If the timetable does not allow the Tuesday session, a second morning session takes place instead.
Competition opportunities
A variety of opportunities to compete and represent KHS in netball. See Competitions and carnivals below.
Academic support
Access to the Talented Athlete Academic Support Program: library support on Wednesdays, or sign-out at lunch to study, train or recover at home.
Expert coaching
High-quality coaching and development opportunities through affiliated and complementary sporting bodies.
Athlete knowledge
Personal development of the training and health knowledge that builds successful, well-rounded athletes.
