Kingscliff High School - Sports Excellence
SURFING
School Sport
The program
Surfing at Kingscliff
Kingscliff High School sits a few minutes from the beach, and surfing is one of the sports our students can choose during Wednesday school sport. It is one of the clearest ways we make the most of where we are.
The group is open to students from Year 7, whether they have never stood up on a board or they are in the water every weekend. Teachers surf alongside the students, and our exchange students are encouraged to give it a go.
Awards
Recognising our surfers
Each term, students are recognised at the school surfing sport awards.
Surfing awards
Categories have included Best Manoeuvre, Most Barrelled, Biggest Charger and The Wipeout Award.
Encouragement awards
Presented for exemplary behaviour, leadership and responsibility in the water and on the beach.
Prizes have been donated by Rip Curl Kingscliff. We are grateful for their support, and for the support of Cudgen Surf Club.
